Spiritual, Occult or Philosophy?

When one gets in touch with fortune-telling, there is always a question - whether we have the choice to make decisions for our lives or everything is set? Because otherwise any fortune telling skills wouldn't work if things are not set.

People with Aries or Capricorn characters always think it is non-sense to check with astrologer or tarot reader because they just need to do it (yes, like Nike, just do it!) People with Scorpio and Aquarius characters are fascinated by these kind of unknown things! To a certain extent, astrology is some kind of statistics, but in a complicated ways because the houses, aspects and degrees of one's natal chart definitely would make the difference. So here explained that to a certain extent, things are quite set, as natal chart is defined when you were born and you cannot change it.

However, tarot is using one's intuition to clarify the current energy, if you realized the energy is not to your own good, you can always change your course and make a difference in the future. So this explained that we do have a choice.

Is it spiritual? I definitely would agree that it is spiritual because both astrology and tarot is asking you to have the correct attitude towards life. Like card #0 The Fool, the major arcana cards are a journey of the fool. It is like there is a lot of stuff to learn in the journey, like knowing and making use of your own skills (#1 the Magician), and meeting your lovers and make conscious choices (#6 The Lovers). Or one can learn from bad experiences (The Devil and The Tower), and even further, share this experience with others who are facing similar situation and be the teacher to them. So it is the growth of one's soul on Earth.

Is it occult? Well... maybe, but this depends how you use the tools. Astrology and tarots are only tools, astrologer and tarot readers are only reader or interpreter of the natal chart or the tarot cards. So unless you are like Aleister Crowley, using the stars and cards for some sort of rituals, I don't think it should be classified as occult.

Is it philosophy? Again I would definitely agree because it makes you think, consider many things in life, you will get less stubborn on certain things as you know things happening are only an experience and it shall pass. The judgement will come when your pass, and your soul goes back to the One.

Is it religion then? That depends how you define religion... if you are like me, think that a religion is to have a moral standard and the fear of a God-like figure, I would say, yes, astrology and tarot would make you understand that there must be a Higher Power that make things work this way, so complicated yet so beautiful. All are under a big blue-print and you will make conscious choices seriously so as to live it fully, but the ultimate goal is to make you understand that it is all illusions and there is only one thing matter - The Development of Your Soul.

So how about you? What do you think?
